Emily Brookfield

Spanning nine years, Emily’s ceramic journey has seen her work exhibited at various galleries around Australia and has taken her to Japan, where she has completed two artist residencies. She continues to engage with the ceramics community through exhibitions and events, and has been teaching pottery classes alongside her personal practice since 2020.

Emily’s work is informed by material exploration and an investigation of object interaction to create a sense of place. Our innate need to attach meaning and sentimentality to objects continues to fascinate Emily and the connection to community through clay drives her practice. Her current focus is on creating keepsake pieces with a story to tell. Heirlooms that can be cherished for generations.

Ceramic artist based in Djilang/Geelong, on Wadawurrung Country, Victoria, Australia.
