Connecting With Others Through Clay
After all of these lockdowns it’s easy to feel isolated and starved of face to face human connection.
And I don’t know about you but I’ve found as I’ve gotten older that it’s become a lot harder to make new connections than what it was when I was in my early 20’s. I feel very lucky that the ceramics community has brought some really amazing people into my life! I was reflecting on how I got into pottery and how that one tiny decision to take a pottery class back in 2016 changed my life forever! I mean, I quit my full time job for ceramics!! That’s how much ceramics and the pottery community has impacted my life. I am so glad I took that class.
I want to be able to provide others with the opportunity to connect with people they wouldn’t normally be able to connect with, have fun while not scrolling their phones and to take a mental health break from life in general even if it’s just for a few hours. For me, offering workshops is all about the connection with others. Of course you’re learning new skills and being creative which I absolutely love, but I get the most enjoyment out of seeing you guys have a blast and take some time for you.
I’ve got some fun hand building workshops coming up in September suitable for complete beginners so if you’ve been thinking about taking a class, this is your sign!
I’ll be hosting these particular workshops at the super cute Warrandyte Pottery Studio.
